My name is Jason Rudder, and I was born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago. I have been in the United States of America for eight years, and I have achieved a lot over that time, both academically and athletically. I am coming to you having recently completed my Master's in Business Administration (MBA) at Morgan State University in Maryland, and I am hoping that this will help me to proper equip you for your future.
I have been playing football (soccer) since I was five years old. I started off at small coaching clinic called Peleota. I played as a sweeper for several years until my final year in primary school (elementary school) when I played forward for my school team.
In high school I played midfield/forward and was part of a record breaking U14 team that accomplished the treble of league, knockout, and national champions. I played the equivalent to varsity for two years but trained with the team for four years. The first year I played forward and we won the zonal knockout championship, and my second year I played sweeper. I was selected to the Secondary Schools Football League All-Star team, and played a tournament against teams from Barbados, Jamaica, and the USA at the national stadium of Barbados.
After graduating high school in Trinidad, I attended high school in the United States at Notre Dame High School of East Stroudsburg Pennsylvania where I had fourteen goals and thirteen assists in the first fifteen games, until I unfortunately tore my lateral co-lateral ligament (LCL) in my right knee, and sat out the majority of the second half of the season. I returned for the playoff round quarterfinals. At the end of the season we placed second in the knockout and the league, and selected to the First Team All-Area.
I was recruited to play at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, where I played all four years of my NCAA eligibility. We won the conference championship in my freshman and sophomore years. I was the only player to be selected from my team to the Regional All-Tournament team for the NCAA championship for our conference in both those years. I was also selected First Team All-Conference in my sophomore year. I tore my LCL again the summer before my junior year and sat out the first half of the season. In my senior year I was selected Third Team All-Region and scored the game winner in my last college game.
Since then I have played three years semi-professionally in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), with the Pocono Snow F.C., and I have been to Brazil twice in the past year, once to market myself, and the other on trial with a first division team called Legiao.
