Spring 2009 Basketball League
PRAA in conjuction with the JR. NBA, the CHARLOTTE BOBCATS Youth Basketball Network, and DICK'S SPORTING GOODS Youth Community Sports Programs is pleased to once again offer instructional competitive basketball leagues for boys and girls ages 5-15 years old.
PRAA is excited to announce the start of a new basketball season. We all are looking forward to the beginning of games this coming weekend. PRAA wants to also take the opportunity to once again thank everyone for their continued support. This year PRAA is proud to announce we have over 260 players on 30 teams representing Porter Ridge Athletic Association. We look forward to a fun season competing with other PRAA teams as well as teams from MARA and Mint Hill. We sincerely hope every player enjoys competing this season and further develops their skills in this great sport while having fun with their friends and classmates.
We also want to take this opportunity to spread some very important information regarding PRAA Basketball.
Managing over 260 players on 30 teams playing in multiple gym locations takes a tremendous amount of time and energy. Thank you to everyone involved. That includes our basketball commissioner, assitant commissioners, coaches, players, and especially parents. Without everyone's help there is no way we could pull this off. With this said we ask your patience and understanding when something doesn't go as smoothly as you would expect. PRAA is a volunteer based association and without everyone's hard work we would not be able to provide these exciting opportunities to our children.
Gym Rules-Please help by following these simple rules
- Arrive at the time assigned by your coach
- NO food or drink inside the gyms. If any food or drink is seen inside any of our gyms by any school official then our use of the gyms will be revoked. Please do not put PRAA in this position. We kindly ask you to finish you food and drinks outside and deposit any trash in trash containers.
- Do not show any disrepect to any opposing players, coaches, and parents. This is youth sports. Please encourage good fun for everyone.
- Do not show any disrepect to any officials. The officials have no interest in the outcome. They are there to do their job and call a fair game.
- Do not disrepect any basketball volunteers. They are there to maintain a good atmosphere for the PRAA memebers and our guests. Please show them your utmost respect.
- Do not explore the schools. The hallways at the schools are not open for any visitors to walk around.
- Do not allow any of your children to play on or hang on anything being stored in the gyms. As you all know our gyms frequently have materials stored in them for their school programs. Please help us take care of these items and do not allow anyone to disturb any of these items.
- Admission fee is Adults $1 and Students are free. This fee will be collected at entry. Please be sure to pay the volunteer at the gate or you will be denied entry.
- HAVE FUN!!! Cheer for every player and team.
We look forward to a great start to our basketball season with a full weekend slate of games.
We hope everyone has fun and we thank you again for your support of PRAA.
