pr_logoWelcome to Porter Ridge Athletic Association

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for visiting the Porter Ridge Athletic Association (PRAA) web site and introduce you to our sports program. The PRAA was created to afford the children and parents of Western Union county an opportunity to participate and compete in a variety of sports. Over the years, the PRAA has grown to more than 1,200 families serving over 2000 children. On behalf of the Board of Directors and parents of Porter Ridge, I want to thank all the volunteers that help shape the minds and bodies of our youth. Furthermore, it needs to be emphasized that all personnel within the PRAA are dedicated volunteers who give of their time and themselves to make your child's athletic experience positive and memorable.

The primary goal of the PRAA is that all of our children be afforded an opportunity to participate in instructional, recreational, and competitive athletics. Currently, the PRAA offers 7 sporting activities where young athletes may participate. Many of these sports offer different levels of athletic competition, ranging from developmental, recreational through select-level play, so that a wider range of children may take advantage of the different levels of competition. The PRAA primary vision is to produce young adults who understand and display the meaning of leadership, discipline, integrity, hard work, and personal courage. Along with this experience, we hope to teach our athletes how to win with pride and accept defeat with dignity; a lesson we hope they will carry with them through life.

Please explore our web site and if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me or any member of our Board of Directors. As always, we will be happy to assist you.

Sincerely,
Danny Fesmire
President, Porter Ridge Athletic Association

FEES
Activity Fee-This fee is used to pay the expenses for that particular sport.  These expenses are uniforms, equipment, referees and umpires, association dues (Cal Ripken, NCYSA, etc.) and any other expense that sport has so that sport can operate.
Family Fee-This fee is paid by each family once during the year at your first registration for that year.  The family fee period runs  from Jan 1-Dec. 31 for that current year.  The family fee is used to pay for overall association expenses such as liability insurance, field maintenance, field development, electric and water utility bills, etc.  These are expenses shared by all of the sports.
REFUNDS
Beginning January 1, 2010 PRAA will have a NO REFUND policy.  The only way a refund will be issued is if PRAA is unable to place your child on a team or your child is injured and cannot participate before being placed on a team.  All refunds must meet one of these criteria.

PRAA is a great place to volunteer any time you have.  PRAA has many areas where your help can be used.  PRAA is a great place to have fun while donating small pieces of your time with others from our community.  If you would like to get involved please fill out and submit the volunteer application form.

The volunteer application form can be found by clicking HERE. Please help us make PRAA the best association we can by getting involved.
